Father's Day Gift Guide

by - June 09, 2017

If your anything like me, to say I love my Dad
is a huge under statement.

May dad is relentlessly loving and supportive.  And although I try to tell him every time we speak that I love him and that I am so grateful and thankful for him, I find that Father's Day is an extra special day I can return his love with a little special gift.

Here is my Father's Day Gift Guide!
(fyi the highlighted words will take you to item web pages)

Last Father's Day I got by dad boat shoes and he wore them all summer long and took them on a cruise with him.  I had no idea he would have liked them so much!  Nordstrom has some great Sperry's on sale in select sizes and a great selection to chose from.

A lot of dad's out there LOVE beer, unfortunately my dad does not but my husband does.  And they both love popcorn.  There is a very cool website called Amazing Clubs that offers 40 gift clubs that sends a monthly gift to your dad, like beer of the month club or popcorn of the month club.  You can choose to pay for three months, six months, a year of even month to month.  My mom got the beer of the month club for my husband for Christmas and he loves it!

For the dad who cycles these gloves are awesome, I got them for my brother-in-law and was surprised when he said what great quality they are and how good they feel, he wears them a lot in the fall and early winter.  He's a very serious cycler.

The Echo Dot is a great gift for any dad.  Well maybe not great for those with a thick accent, sometimes these voice controlled gadgets have a hard time with accents (I've seen it first hand).   But either way it's a thoughtful gift at a great price.
Cuisinart knives are my favorite.  I have had one in my drawer for years and it was my favorite, till I bought a new one.  The original knife has never been sharpened!   This Cuisinart seven piece knife set with stand is so cool looking.  It's a great gift for the dad who cooks or for the dad who eats a lot of steak maybe a steak knife set.

If you looking for a sentimental gift, these frames are gorgeous.  In person they are prettier than they look on the website.  I bought the set of 4, 13 inch square frames for my dad for his birthday and filled them with family photos (5x7 photos).  He loved it and he had a wall in his office that needed some love and these did the trick.  Or you could buy one or two and put them in a spot he frequents the most a man cave or living room space.  The frames are heavy and great quality.
This leather cocktail shaker can be monogramed.  I got a similar one for my dad a couple Christmas's ago, with his initials.  He and my mom shake up a martini on Friday nights and with friends and his loves it.  I also got them these coasters another year, with both their initials but obviously for Father's Day I'd do just his initials.  I love a good personalized gift and from what I can tell so does my dad.

Of course there are many gifts that you can not buy that would be great, like promising a set date with your dad for a father-daughter day or father-son or son-in-law day.  Before I got married I asked my dad to spend the day with me, a little bonding time, we went to a local bumper car indoor speedway and then out to lunch.  It was the best time!

Also a nice bottle of wine, scotch, whiskey or even a special tequila is always sweet too.  Or a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant or to the movies.  My sister-in-law got her husband a photo shoot with a professional photographer, last year for Father's Day.  I think it was his second Father's Day and their son was just starting to walk and get into to trouble so the pictures came out amazing.

Happy Shopping!
