Wedding Wednesday - Mother of The Bride Gift

by - July 26, 2017

Hooray!   It's Wednesday which means we have made it through the first half (the long half) of the week.  I can see the weekend from where I'm sitting, it's so close.  Since we are so close to the joyous weekend I though it would be a good day to share what I got my mother for her Mother of the Bride gift and also share some runner up ideas as well.

It was very important to me to get my parents gifts thanking them, attempting to relay the fact that I was and still am so grateful for everything they have done for me in life and for the wedding.  Finding the right gift for my dad was easy but for my mom it was a little more challenging, so I searched Etsy high and low for nice sentimental gifts that felt like her.

I found this handmade clutch at an Etsy shop called Ellen Vintage located in the United Kingdom and I instantly knew it is what I wanted to gift to my mother.  It is not only beautiful and handmade but the shop can embroider a small message in the lining of the clutch.  It was/ is perfect, it matched her dress for the wedding oh so perfectly, a dress which we had chosen together on a fun Nordstrom shopping trip.  Funny side note,  I've gotten my mother a couple wallets and purses over the years as birthday gifts and after I ordered this clutch she said to me 'no more purses Sharon' (I forget why she said it to me maybe her birthday was around the corner).  Not because she didn't like them but because she felt bad I was spending money on nicer purses for her.  But I had already ordered the clutch so one more purse wasn't going to kill her.

Ellen Vintage has more than four and a half stars out of five stars on Etsy and has hundreds of raving reviews.  I left a raving review, because not only was the shop owner helpful in processing my order but the clutch is of AMAZING quality.  It holds its shape on its own and the silk flowers are soft and gorgeous.  I was so excited to give it to her and she really seemed happy to receive it.

Some other gift ideas I was toying with were; a coffee muga handkerchief (although this seemed more Father of the bride to me), wines glassesa picture framejewelery and a compact mirror, all which could have been personalized for her.  Etsy is full of fun and creative gifts for anyone, I also got my Father of the Bride gift from an Etsy shop and my husband and I bought each other's wedding bands on Etsy.
