Dressing Room Diaries - Loft

by - September 14, 2017

I had the day off yesterday and after a long walk with Bella in the morning it started to pour and ruined my plans of planting some mums in the front yard.  So of course I grabbed a hat and headed to the mall, why not?  I decided to do a little shopping trip at Loft for a couple reasons, I don't shop their regularly, I wanted to check out their new items and I heard they always have great sales.  What I learned is the Loft has beautiful, well constructed clothing and their staff is too sweet and the dressing rooms have great lighting.  The only problem that I have with Loft is that in-stores they don't carry a lot of sizes for someone my size, XXS, petite.  All in all it was a great shopping trip and I bought a pair of white jeans and returned home to buy a sweater online that I regretted leaving in the store.  Since I had not been to Loft in a while I've added my insight to each item posted.
 Happy Shopping...

This Floral Vine Sheath Dress $63 (on sale) is so cute and classy, I just loved it.  I can imagine wearing it with my in-laws for brunch or even with tights and heels for an interview.  And it has pockets!  It comes in several sizes, it accentuates the waist and is comfortable to sit or stand in.  The color is really pretty too, jewel toned which is very trendy right now.

Party in the back, right?  This Tie Back Mixed Media Sweater $35 (on sale) could be styled so many ways, simple leggings and flats, boots and jeans the options are endless, also it is very flattering.  I could see any size/ shape woman rocking this sweater and looking great with ease.  It also comes in a wine color.

Although I could not find this sweater on Loft's website I thought it was too pretty not to share.  The embroidery is delicate and peachy and the sweater is incredibly soft with wrist slits that are very trendy right now.   It might be a new item that is only available in-stores but here is a similar version on sale for $30, with puff cuffed sleeves that are also very trendy right now.

I'm not in the market for another stripped top or sweater right now bit if I was I would have purchased this one on sale for $35.  You might not be able to tell from the photo but the base of this sweater is blush with wine colored stripes.  It's a boxy fit that's plush and comfy.

This fall I'm really loving longer skirts like this one on sale for $40 and the color is perfect for the season.  It has strong gold snaps that hold it together on the exterior and a small clear button holding it together on the interior and POCKETS!  Any skirt or dress with pockets gains extra points with me automatically.

Two weeks ago in my Wishlist Wednesday post I mentioned these Satin Cargo Pants.  Unfortunately they did not have my size in store but I loved the look and wanted to share it with you guys.  These pants are on sale in grey and maroon for $49 and in cobalt for $36.  I think the maroon and cobalt are especially pretty and very on trend right now since they are jewel toned colors.  In these photos I am pinching the back of these pants together so that they don't fall down so you can see what they'd look like if they fit properly.  They'd look great with heels or flats, dressed up or dressed down and they have pocket (!).  They are not a winter time pants though, they are thin and not meant for 10 degrees and snowy conditions, otherwise they are very versatile.

These photos are actually working double duty picturing two items I tried on; the pants are these Modern Skinny Jean in white on sale for $39 (which I bought) and this Shirttail Open Cardigan $70 (not on sale). I wish this cardigan had been on sale because it is sooo soft and a lovely color blush pink.  When it goes on sale I will alert you all on my Instagram because I will be buying it then.  I bought the jeans in size 24 petite, they fit loosely and have a raw edge at the ankles, perfect for fall and for next spring.  They are stretchy and comfortable, the best pair of white jeans I've tried on in years and I've tried on a lot, at least one pair every time I hit the mall.

This Flowerbud Button Sleeve Dress is perfect fall transition piece from summer to fall.  It's on sale for $63, it's loose fitting, flowy and has ruffles around the bottom edge and the sleeves.  I've seen it styled with sandals, flats, boots and cardigan's.  The floral design is soft blush and grayish green on a white or cream base, it's definitely girly and sweet.

I'm imagining this Floral Embroidered Flare Dress as the perfect dress for a Thanksgiving or Christmas family gathering.  It's on sale for $56, with beautiful details, but simple at the same time.  As you can tell form the last photo (were I'm squeezing the back of the dress together) it's a little large on me in the XXS, if you prefer a looser look or are willing to get this dress altered it is definitely worth it.  The sleeves are 3/4 length and also have floral embroidery.  It's a very flattering dress that would look great on many women of different shapes and sizes.

And I have saved the best for last!  This Marled Shirttail Sweater, $60 is incredibly soft and plush in the sweetest blush color.  It's the perfect sweater in my book, the wrists have a little split detail and it is long but looks great tucked in.  I already have a similar blush sweater but having two isn't going to kill me.  I signed up for Loft's email list and got 20% of this sweater making it a personal sale item.  I'm always looking to save a buck!

I hope you enjoyed this week's Dressing Room Diaries.  I'm happy that I strayed from my normal shopping haunts and explored Loft, their clothing is extremely well made.  There were so many items that I didn't try on because of time limitations, but wanted to.  I will surely be back again soon!
