Skincare Favorites

Proper skincare is very important and I am conscious about the ingredients in the products I use.  I like to read skincare articles from some of my favorite beauty websites like; Byrdie and get skincare insight from other bloggers.  I also do my own skincare research across the web by reading reviews.  I get so much great information from reading reviews on Amazon, Sephora and Ulta, they are my three go-to's when I'm looking for honest reviews.  And from those reviews I've made a bunch of great skincare purchases.  Here are three skincare products that I've recently bought based on reviews and now LOVE for myself.  For reference I am thirty three years old (about to turn thirty four), I have combination skin, that sometimes is a little oily but can get dry in the winter and my biggest skincare concerns are hormonal breakouts, scaring from breakouts and laugh lines.

I bought my bottle at Target, but you can buy it from Amazon as well and read the many positive reviews on both sites.  The reason I love this cleanser is because it simple and effective.  It removes makeup and the dirt and grime from the day without being harsh on my skin.  My skin feels really clean after using it and even a little brighter.  It's vegan, sulfate free, paraben free and cruelty free.  Also a little goes a long way, this bottle will probably last me six months, using it once a day.  I've been using it for a little over a month now and am very happy with it, no complaints.  I'm hoping since it's not drying that it will do the job in the winter months too.

As I mentioned I am thirty three and still breakout.  I usually breakout once a month, either around my cheeks or my forehead.  My cheeks I can usually deal with or hide but my forehead is always devastating for me and leaves me with a scar.  I've tried so many spot treatments for these breakouts and nothing has worked.  I finally buckled down and researched the web for the best spot breakout treatment.  This drying lotion got raving reviews so I purchased it and will NEVER purchase another breakout spot treatment again.  It is the holy grail!  I have had huge blemishes that after one night of use are half their size the next morning and gone in two to three days tops.  The lotion is two separate liquids, a clear liquid on top and a pink one on the bottom and you apply it by sticking a q-tip into the liquids as they are, without shaking the bottle and applying the tip of the q-tip covered in the lotion to your spot.  The spot will be pink and will not rub in, my husband has learned to deal with my pink spot face before bed every once and while.

I've been using this serum for about two months now, I'm really happy with the results and hope that my skin continues to improve.  I bought it because I noticed my smile lines seemed a little deeper lately and thought it was probably because I wasn't using a serum or nighttime moisturizer with anti-wrinkle purposes.  After reading a lot about how to combat laugh lines and wrinkles I decided I wanted a hyaluronic acid serum.  Hyaluronic acid is a humectant or moisture binding ingredient that can plump the skin.  My skin absorbs this serum fully, I'm not left sticky and I don't need a nighttime moisturizer with it (it would be too much moisture and I would breakout).  Since using this serum my laugh lines are less intense, some of my dark spots have faded and I have't had any mentionable breakouts.

Thank you for reading, any questions about these products feel free to shoot them my way.  Or if you have any products that you swear by I'd love to hear!  Have a lovely Thursday!
