Splurge vs Save

by - February 20, 2018

My mom and I were talking about the blog the other day, about how I am trying to find my voice and decide what and when to share posts.  She mentioned she really likes my 'Splurge vs Save' post so what better time post one?  And a good one!  These Spring items are all trendy and classy at the same time.  I have a couple thoughts on each item, I hope you enjoy...

Splurge
Contemporary Crochet Top $23
Even though these two top are a little different I think the 'save' version is equally cute and worth forgetting about the 'splurge' version.  The blue breezy look is so popular for Spring and the bell sleeves are very on trend.

A Line Lace V-Neck Cocktail Party Midi Skirt Spaghetti Strap Dress $29
This lace dress has been everywhere for the last two Spring/ Summer seasons and the 'splurge' option here is actually a 'save' version of the original from two seasons ago.  But the dress now has some more dupes including this one that gets great reviews.  I am thinking of getting it for myself.  And it is perfect for Spring/ Summer brides.  Best thing about both options is that they are returnable!

Handmade Round Straw Bag $29

Save Some More
Crochet Shoulder Summer Bag $24
This 'splurge vs save' option is a tough one.  This bag is very on trend.   I usually like to buy my straw bags at vintage stores, because they are the BEST.  But I am kind of in love with the 'splurge' version.  And the 'splurge' version has a detachable long strap that the save versions do not.  Although I am in love with the 'splurge' version the 'save some more' version looks almost perfect to me.

Without a doubt the 'save' version is a million times better than the Gucci 'splurge'.  Nothing against Gucci but the Guilty print is so cheeky and fun!

Wild Thing 50 $785

Lace Up Sandals Fringed Tassel Shoes $46
You have to be careful with 'save' shoes because some can be really cheap, uncomfortable and pinch your toes.  But with these open toe, block sandal I can not see a problem, unless you decide to run a marathon in them.  They get great reviews and have been one trend for at least two seasons.  This goes for the pair below as well.
