Wow!  What a week!  How was your week?  Mine was busy and actually flew by, I guess that's a good thing.  Monday night started off with all the amazing gowns and looks from the Met Gala.  I find the Met Gala and it's themes to be so intriguing.  Do you like to see the fashion?  I love the fashion and creativity and I get so excited to see what everyone is wearing.  It's the only fashion/ celebrity event I get hyped about.  I like fashion shows but don't like awards shows, but the Met Gala... be still my heart!  This year's red carpet was the BEST I've seen in years!

On Tuesday painters hired by our home owner's association came around to paint our doors (the outside only), shutters, kicks stops and door frames.  This meant while I was bust working I was also busy opening and closing windows and doors for the painters.  Then at the same time the sidewalk in front of our driveway was being demolished (again hired by the HOA).  Late Tuesday afternoon a couple guys with jack hammers went ham in front of my house and it was unpleasant to say the least.  It was stressful because I work from home and have to concentrate so I treated myself to a glass of wine after work.

Then on Wednesday evening my mom and I headed to Peddler's Village to hangout, shop, get food and a cocktail, you know mommy and me time.  It's actually a funny story.  Last week she sent a group text to my brother, his fiancé, my husband and myself, stating she did not want gifts and was putting her foot down about it, she can be scary when she is demanding her way or the the highway.  I tried to wriggle my way around it with excuses like; 'but I have to get you a gift for the blog' and  'I see this as a request and not a demand, requests can be denied'.  She did NOT like the latter.  She said what was important to her was that we spent time together, basically referring to the dinner we will be having together as a family on Saturday night for Mother's Day.  So I finally came up with my plan, I told her I needed her help Wednesday night and to schedule time for me from 4pm into the evening.  When I got to her house I told her I didn't need her help but we were going for girls evening.  Ha!  I won!  She said she wanted to spend time with us! And the cocktails and food would be on me since I was the invitee and that's how manners work.  She could not argue those points.  We started with a little shopping, then had a vodka lemonade on the patio of Hewn Spirits.  After that we both needed food so we split a pizza at the Buttonwood Grill and followed that with ice cream from Ninas Waffles (I had peanut butter and jelly ice cream).  It was the perfect evening, we laughed all night.  I am so lucky to have such an amazing Mother, she is hashtag goals and every day I strive to be more like her.  Before I get too sappy I want to wish all the Mother's, Mother's to-be, Grandmothers and even Pet Mother's out there a Happy Mother's Day.  You ladies deserve this special day.

And now, for this week's fun and interesting articles
